The BMW 5 Series takes the award for the safest car in 2010

BMWBMW of North America announced that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) told the BMW 5 Series Sedan 2011 as the “2010 Top Safety Pick,” meaning the highest rating given by the IIHS, based on their performance in each of the impact tests made to the vehicle.

The award “2010 Top Safety Pick” for the BMW 5 Series Sedan is one of many awards that BMW Group has won the Institute over the years. In fact, as a result of tests conducted in 2008, the BMW 3 Series Sedan 2009, like the X3 Sports Activity Vehicles and X5 were these awards.

“Security has been a priority at BMW for a long time, so getting this recognition means a lot,” said Jim O’Donnell, president of BMW Group in North America. “The press has praised this car and our consumers have eagerly awaited its arrival in showrooms. Bad Driving Habits

Using the Blackberry to chat. Cosmetics, smoking, eating lunch while driving or putting the radio blaring violate the sanctity of driving. Some bad habits cause accidents.

Reflect. Many road accidents are related to recklessness, and carelessness with many of the actions arising within the cabin of the truck, which have little or nothing to do with driving.

Last week we talked about mechanical failures and their relationship to human error. We said that even if the accidents are caused by a burst tire or the brakes failed, at least 85 percent of these cases has to do directly with his driver, who was lax at the time of maintenance: the mechanisms security vehicles are designed not to fail.

But even driving the best and most modern cars, there are simple actions that depend only on the driver, such as stopping when the light turns red, hand over the keys if you have taken, to respect traffic rules and, importantly, focus on road while driving.

If the latter had statistics, it might be the major cause of accidents, or at least is what can be deduced from the number of stories that revolve around “when radio was changing …”,” while uncovering the potato package …”, “I was just hanging up the phone.”
