Pictures of The BMW Series July 2009

Prior to its official launch at the Paris motorshow 2008, BMW has released some images of what will be the fifth generation 7 Series, which is not without some resemblance to the current series. As stated by Autoweek, the car is more of an evolution of the current model (where it was more a revolution on the previous). Several things, however, that it should be noted.

It is noticeable increase in size of the front grille and the taillights. Moreover, the car in general is longer than the current. Its power comes from a new V8 engine (for the 750i and 750Li versions) of 4.4 liter 400 HP, it uses the new SUV from BMW, the X6. And going according to current trends, will also be available two diesels, a 3.0 liter six-cylinder turbocharged 326 HP and a normally aspirated 245-HP. Any of these engines will be on a six-speed sequential transmission.

The new BMW’s Dynamic Damping Control is standard on the new 7 Series. This system allows you to choose the damping force and dynamics of the changes made by the automatic transmission. Similarly, the DDC monitors the use of the accelerator pedal and the iDrive, all under the terms Comfort, Normal, Sports and Sport Plus. The iDrive system is the new four-wheel steering to BMW, which in turns makes the rear wheels also turn (at an angle much less than the front wheels, of course).

The BMW7

The BMW8

Among the delicacies that can be added to the car are the night vision system, adaptive cruise control, rear seats with massage (!) And rear and side cameras that allow a better view rearward.

Hopefully the Paris Motor Show to see major developments.

The Cost of New Prototype for 2012 BMW

New Prototype for 2012 BMW

Apparently people felt that BMW is getting relegated. They realized that, unlike its closest competitors, they do not have a supercar (have no model to compete with the Audi R8, the SLR McLaren or Porsche 911 Turbo and GT2), so I have decided to get to work , according to rumors circulating in the automotive scene.

This new car would have a twin-turbo version of the V10 currently used in the M5, with an estimated 625 hp and rear wheel drive. It is quite possible that the body contains carbon fiber to be as light as possible, very upscale finishings, ceramic brake discs and all the paraphernalia that surrounds a car of this type.

What will it cost? Here’s the million dollar question, which could also have a high level response. Speculation is an average of 300.000 euros for the most powerful version (a little over U.S. $ 470,000). we’ll have saved only about ten thousand dollars a month and we have one of the first.
